Senior Simulation Engineer

About the Company:

Our client is an international deep-tech company building advanced robotic systems designed to operate in real-world environments.
This is not a research-only environment. The product is already being tested in industrial settings, and the team is now scaling the technology behind it: simulation, learning, robotics, and real-world deployment.
The company is working on one of the hardest problems in modern AI and robotics: helping general-purpose robots understand tasks, interact with physical objects, and act reliably outside the lab.

The Role:

They’re looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to join their Vision-Language-Action team - the group working at the intersection of visual perception, language understanding, and robotic action.
Your focus will be on building realistic simulation environments for dexterous manipulation tasks. These environments will be used to train, evaluate, and improve robot behavior before it moves to hardware.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys complex physics-based systems, reinforcement learning, sim-to-real transfer, and the kind of engineering where small details can change everything.

What They’re Looking For:

They’re looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in simulation, physics-based environments, or game-engine-based interactive systems.
  • 3+ years of experience building simulation environments, physics-based interactive systems, or game-engine-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one simulator: Isaac Sim / IsaacLab, MuJoCo, PyBullet, Drake — or strong experience with Unreal / Unity focused on physically accurate interactions.
  • Experience with large-scale parallel simulation on GPU clusters.
  • Strong Python skills and the ability to debug physics issues, profile bottlenecks, and write maintainable research code.
  • Good software engineering practices and clear communication around experiments and trade-offs.

Nice to Have:

  • Robotics or manipulation experience.
  • Experience with large-scale parallel simulation on GPU clusters.
  • Experience training RL policies in simulation. Understanding of reward hacking, distribution shift, and sim-to-real challenges.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim / IsaacLab.
  • Experience with domain randomization, system identification, robocasa, robosuite, or similar frameworks.
  • Publications in robotics / RL or strong open-source contributions.

Compensation & Setup:

The company is considering candidates who are ready to relocate to the UK and is ready to support the relocation process.

The package includes:
  • Base salary + equity package.
  • 23 days of annual leave, 15 days of paid sick leave, and paid company holidays.
  • Fully funded private healthcare for UK employees.
  • Pension scheme with 8% total contribution.
  • A strong team of engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics.
  • Real ownership and the opportunity to influence key technical decisions.
