The company is an ambitious deep-tech startup whose research is focused on creating a universal knowledge representation for any computation - a new lingua franca for AI.
They’re an international 30-people team with headquarters in Tokyo, and are now looking for an aspiring R&D Lead Engineer.
Location & work format:
Hybrid work in Tokyo, Japan (visa sponsorship and relocation allowance available).
Salary range:
18-22M JPY per year.
Key responsibilities:
Rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept research;
Designing and organising experiments;
Defining technical direction and requirements;
Collaborating across research and engineering;
Anticipating technical risks and bottlenecks;
Leading technical execution and people (team of ~3 people at the start).
Key expectations:
5+ years of experience in Lead and Applied AI roles.
Hands-on experience designing, organising, and evaluating experiments and feasibility studies.
Experience defining technical and research requirements.
Experience working in deep collaboration with scientists and ML engineers.
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Proactive mindset to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI.
Fluent in conversational and written business English (C1+).
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Experience working using Agile framework.
